Birthday

I turned 27, today.

27.

Three short years till 30.

Back when I was a "planner", 27 was the age by which I wanted to be "establizhed"- on a career path, married, and with kids in the near future. Indicidentally, I'm not a "planner" anymore - I figured out at 21 that "the plan" rarely works. So now I take life as it comes.

With "the plan" in mind, I thought I'd be a little down, today - and I was, but for hormonal reasons. Getting to talk to loved ones made me feel good, though. So I'm in a good mood. It's noce to know you're loved.

On the downside, I had class, tonight, so I we celebrated, yesterday. Today is Ash Wednesday, anyway, and I didn't want to shirk my religious responsibilities because it also happens to be my birthday. On a side note, I don't consider myself to be a religious fanatic by any stretch of the imagination, but I didn't realize just how important religion is to me until I chose to follow Church custom on my birthday. In any case, because of the nature of the day, I celebrated yesterday by going to the mall with Mom (didn't get much stuff - didn't see much that I liked) and going out to Carrabba's for dinner. Afterwards, Jenn, Sandra, and Gracie came over for yummy chocolate cake with fudge frosting from Publix. Yum!

Overall, it's been a good birthday. I got calls I didn't expect, and that's always good. Hope everyone is having a great week!
