Did anyone hear about the big Southeast ice storm, yesterday, when everyone was stuck inside? Yeah, that was me. We woke up to the first snow of the year. Said snow turned to sleet and ice later in the day. Needless to say, I stocked up on food, etc. on Friday and did not elave my house, yesterday. Sandra, Jenn, and Gracie braved the elements and came over. We cooked dinner (I made balsamic and herb pork - and I baked brownies - from scratch!), watched a movie("Two Weeks' Notice") and pigged out on brownie sundaes! Thankfully, we didn't lose power, and this being Greenville (where it rarely stays below freezing for more than 24 hours), the evidence of the awaful weather has melted almost completely. Porr Nicole and Georgie were thinking they might not have to go to school, tomorrow, but it looks like the roads will be perfectly safe. I already ran to the grocery store, today, with no problems. It's 45 degrees and the sun's out. It's hard to believe it only reached 25 degrees, yesterday.
The worst thing about this weekend has been the annoying cold I have come down with. I feel OK. I'm stuffy as hell, though, and that's a bit of a nuisance. But I'll live. I'm gonna make soup. There's nothing like comfort food to lift the spirits. I hope everyone is nice and warm!
